The Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse (CADA) is hiring an Adult Treatment Counselor to work in our adult substance abuse treatment program in Lompoc.
CADA is a leading provider of lifechanging treatment to adults struggling with drug and/or alcohol abuse and cooccurring mental health issues. Its Project Recovery Adult Treatment Program provides a range of services crucial to clients their families and contributes to the greater overall health and wellbeing of the community.

Qualifications:
  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred.
  • College degree in helping profession (Counseling Psychology Sociology etc. and MFCC or CAC preferred.
  • Minimum oneyear experience in the field of alcohol/drug counseling required.
  • Registration or Certification with an AOD certifying organization recognized by DHCS in good standing.
  • Specific knowledge of individual and group counseling principles and techniques and of substance abuse assessment and case planning.
  • Knowledge of resources for treatment recovery and rehabilitation in the area.
  • Ability to write appropriate professional letters and reports to communicate verbally with professionals and with clients from diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling education and relapse prevention services for clients dealing with substance use disorders.
  • Support clients through comprehensive treatment planning assessments and ongoing progress documentation in alignment with Title 22 Guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and client files including session types service durations and compliance with clinical standards.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and complete annual training requirements as mandated by Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in the field of addiction and recovery to support evidencebased treatment.
  • Contribute to clinic operations by upholding cleanliness standards and ensuring administrative records are properly maintained and filed.
This position is FullTime 40 hours a week with an expected schedule of MonFri 11am7:30pm. Compensation is dependent of the level of prior experience and qualifications with a salary range of $22$25 and a rate increase potential for bilingual (Spanish/ English).
In compliance with the California Department of Health Care Services staff require an uptodate Tuberculosis test during the duration of employment.
