The Contract Sales Trainee position is designed to cultivate skills of individuals who will play a vital role in identifying sales opportunities conducting effective sales calls lead generation presentation of proposals and customer visits within their assigned territory. This position holds immense importance as it aims to fulfill transportation and financial needs through fullservice contract sales truck leasing.
The impact of the Contract Sales Trainee will be to prepare individuals to exceed monthly revenue quotas by actively engaging in guided customer development and prospecting activities. Through their efforts they will learn how to effectively generate proposals and manage the sales pipeline ensuring a steady flow of potential customers.

This position is located at the Penske facility located at 10 Shoham Road in East Windsor CT.
Major Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Field Sales Manager proactively identify pursue and maintain a pipeline of potential customers by using business directories following leads from existing clients participating in organizations and clubs networking and attending trade shows and conferences.
Create proposals for products availability and product uses that meet specific customer needs.
Deliver prepared sales talks that describe products or services in order to persuade potential customers to partner with Penske for their transportation needs.
Learn how to build relationships with Penske customers and prospects by acting as a transportation consultant.
Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support. Maintain records of contacts accounts and orders.
Estimate or quote prices credit or contract terms warranties and delivery dates.
Monitor market conditions product innovations and competitors products prices and sales.
Other projects as assigned by supervisor.
ResponsibilitiesQualificationsQualifications
Bachelors degree required preferred concentration in Sales Marketing or Business.
1 year of sales or sales support experience preferred; transportation sales preferred.
Internship or related work experience in a customer facing role preferred.
Ability to demonstrate strategic selling skills.
Ability to follow established Sales processes.
Ability to execute consultative and strategic selling techniques including articulating & presenting multiple products and services to C level executives both verbally and in writing.
Ability to connect and build rapport / relationships with internal and external customers at all levels.
Ability to work independently engage with others and show flexibility in a fastpaced working environment.
Embrace a culture of integrity & professionalism and utilize this value based selling methodology in all sales pursuits.
Willingness to execute heavy independent travel. Travel is required daily for prospecting and building pipeline of new customers.
Strong written/ verbal communication skills required.
Strong organizational skills time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects / work streams.
Exceptional listening skills required.
Confidence in customer facing situations.
Presentation skills in front of executivelevel customers is required.
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint required.
Regular predictable full attendance is an essential function of the job.
