About the branch:
Working in a dynamic fastpaced environment the Director of Yukon Public Libraries fosters a collaborative team approach both within the division and with external contacts and clients. The Director is an important member of the divisions management team and provides strategic leadership to encourage strengthen enable and support public libraries across the territory.
About the job:
The ideal candidate will have strong strategic thinking skills client service orientation and a flexible proactive approach to working with staff colleagues and clients. They will resolve issues and problems using strong negotiation skills as well as make decisions with integrity and balanced judgement.
Essential Qualifications:

- Completion of a degree in a relevant field (such as Library and Information Science Public Administration Community Development or Education).
- Experience in financial and human resource management.
- Experience leading and developing staff including performance and talent management.
- Experience designing implementing and assessing programming especially related to diversity and inclusion.
- A degree in Library and Information Science will be considered an asset.
- Experience working in a library or archive particularly at the management level will be considered an asset.
- Experience working with societies and boards will be considered an asset.
Candidates who have education training and/or experience equivalent to the above qualifications listed may be equally considered.
