Executive Director
CLIENT ASSOCIATION: American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM)
POSITION REPORTS TO: EDI Consulting Partner
POSITION(S) THAT REPORT TO YOU: Senior Administrative Manager AAEM & AAEM/RSA Program Manager Senior Meetings Manager Senior Communications Manager and WestJEM Journal Administrative Manager
EXEMPT/NONEXEMPT EMPLOYEE STATUS: Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours per week)

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Executive Director is responsible for overall oversight and development of AAEM and its related organizations (AAEM Foundation AAEM LEADEM AAEMPG AAEMPAC AAEM/RSA). Responsibilities include but are not limited to daytoday operational oversight of the Association implementation of Board of Directors and Executive Committee actions and policies and program development. Provides leadership to staff to complete tasks in a professional and timely manner.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct liaison with the President Officers Board and Executive Committee.
With Board President coordinate and produce agendas and related materials for all Board meetings and conference calls.
Overall daytoday management of the AAEM Physician Group AAEM Foundation and AAEM LEADED.
Supervision/Oversight of AAEM staff and assist as needed with committees task forces sections chapter divisions programs and activities.
Serve as staff liaison to Government Affairs Ethics and Legal Committees as well as board task forces.
Direct and oversee all legal and contractual undertakings of AAEM.
Oversee the annual election process for the AAEM Board of Directors.
Direct and oversee strategic planning initiatives for academy.
Direct and oversee all financial activities of academy including budgeting monitoring and reconciliation.
Maintain the AAEM Policy Manual.
Prepare insurance applications and seek policy coverage as needed D&O and Liability.
Coordinate and assist in editing of AAEM documents.
Provide oversight to AAEM/RSA.
Other duties as assigned.


AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: Approximately 34 weeks per year; some weekend and evening work required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5 years of association management experience computer proficiency outstanding organizational and communication skills; Bachelors degree required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Occasional lifting of 50pound boxes may be required.
*This position is located in downtown Milwaukee WI and a minimum of two days onsite in the office (including Wednesday as an allstaffinoffice day) are a requirement of the role.
