Three years of supervisory experience in food industry preferably K12 and/or nutrition related field. Plus at least one year experience as an Area Supervisor.
Experience in school food service management quality assurance menu planning catering marketing and promotions.
Experience in project planning and collaborating with teams to implement projects.
School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Credentialed preferred.
American Dietetic Association Registered Dietitian Licensed Dietitian or eligible desirable but not required.
Working knowledge of policies procedures and laws concerning employee relations separation and investigative procedures.
Computer skills and working knowledge of Oracle MS Windows MS Office Professional.
Proven ability to present a positive image for the district maintain professional demeanor provide excellent customer service and use good judgement in making decisions.
Ability to organize and coordinate multiple tasks and to work under time pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently at times with limited direction and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.
Training and presentation skills at all levels.
Interpersonal skills in communication both verbal and written form.
Directly Supervise 4 or more Area Supervisors indirectly supervise 45 Cafeteria Supervisors and 325 campus staff by providing leadership on policies and procedures pertaining to the Food and Child Nutrition program as it relates to staffing labor relations compliance training employee evaluation and public relations at the school level. Serve as a department liaison between food service and campus administrators.
Understand train and enforce compliance of best practices laws regulations policies and emerging technologies related to school food service operations and communicate to appropriate department personnel.
Monitor all food purchases labor cost and supplies purchases according to keep within annual budget. Analyze labor levels of campus and staffing agency employees daily and make adjustments according to campus needs.
Assist Area Supervisors with school disciplinary concerns; serve as a resource for supervisors by providing information and counseling to the fair and consistent treatment of school employees. Responsible for the documentation needed for the due process of school staff.
Maintain and update Filemaker records including but not limited to Child and Adult Care Food Program Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program Saturday School Seamless Summer Option Break Meals Program FOCUS Program and Homeless Shelter.
Assume Area Supervisor responsibilities when position is vacant.
Conduct annual performance appraisals for Area Supervisors.
Conduct regular campus visits to ensure consistency and compliance with local state and federal policies and procedures.
Attend workshops and seminars as assigned to maintain current knowledge of the food services industry.
Responsible for presenting monthly meetings for all Cafeteria Supervisors and Area Supervisors.
Attend campus kitchen construction meetings to ensure department is informed of project timeline and address any questions or concerns.
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines.
