United Fire & Casualty Company is seeking a DevOps Technical Lead. Position is responsible for performing a variety of technical activities including the coordination of DevOps initiatives and tasks providing technical leadership maintaining the DevOps strategic roadmap activities attending architectural meetings and assisting to ensure UFG compliance adherence. The technical lead also has significant responsibility in the growth and mentoring of team members and must possess strong technical skills and be able to motivate and develop team members. The DevOps team includes members that are working on CICD/deployments process automation application administration software configuration. The DevOps Tech Lead will work with team members across all disciplines within DevOps.
Essential duties and responsibilities include: Manage the automation and efficiencies of large highimpact implementation efforts working with the companys processes; Develop and maintain standards and procedures for the DevOps teams; Designing and approving architectural decisions within the DevOps space technical processes/workflows; from source code to through deployment; Assists in the development of the divisions medium and shortterm plans to facilitate strategic planning continuous improvement initiatives and resource appropriation Attend regular architectural meetings; Lead the setup installation and management of new servers; Attend daily Change Advisory Board meetings; Collaborate with IT security and audit to ensure compliance; Explore new technologies to keep the company current.
Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or Management Information Systems required plus 3 years of experience in information technology. UFG will also accept candidates with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Management Information Systems Information Technology plus 5 years of progressively responsible postbaccalaureate experience in Information Technology.
Position reports to United Fire & Casualtys headquarters office located at 118 2nd Avenue SE Cedar Rapids IA but can telecommute from any location in the United States. For telecommuters occasional work at or travel to HQ location is required for trainings/meetings. Work duties will require work outside of regular business hours and position is part of an oncall rotation.
Salary range: $104114.00to$183120.00USD
