The Bellevue Club Aquatics Department is currently looking for a parttime Master Swim Coach to join our team. This individual provides safe effective instruction in the fundamental skills of swimming to participants in the Masters Swimming program. Shifts: - 5:45am 7:00am on Tuesday/Thursday

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Conducts initial consultations with individuals wishing to start swimming in the Masters program. Assesses the current fitness level fitness and competitive goals and skill level to develop an individual workout schedule to meet the individuals needs.
- Completes charge slips for lesson billing. Answers questions regarding the billing process. Submits these charges to the Business Office for billing to members accounts.
- Organizes and enters swimmers in competitive Masters meets held at various locations throughout the United States. Gathers entry forms assists the competitors in completing these and collects entry fees. Arranges out of town accommodations and coordinates payments. Accompanies the team to various meets.
- Develops and coaches Masters workouts. Maintains attendance records for participants records and plans workouts in conjunction with the swimmers. Provides encouraging motivational coaching to participants during workouts and swim meets.
- Arranges for an approved substitute coach to be on duty when necessary. All substitutes must have the prior approval of the Aquatics Director.
- Updates the Masters bulletin board as necessary. Posts information related to Masters swimming from journal and magazine articles and personal research.
- Promotes the Masters program through articles in the Club magazine the Masters bulletin board consultations with prospective participants and personal contacts.
Requirements: - Current WSI LGI CPR Swim Instructor Safety and First Aid certifications.
- Four year college degree in Recreation Physical Education or a related field preferred. Six years experience in competitive swimming combined with two years coaching experience may substitute for college degree.
- Ability to work effectively with little or no supervision.
- Two years swim coaching experience.
- Ability to demonstrate swimming skills taught at all levels of instruction.
- Ability to provide encouraging motivational instruction in the skills and strategies of swimming to the participants of the Masters program.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written. Ability to communicate effectively with employees members swimmers and coaching staff and to handle difficult situations professionally and positively.
- Ability to type and a familiarity with personal computers beneficial.
- Ability to develop and maintain high safety standards in a swimming program.
- Extensive knowledge of and enthusiasm for the sport of swimming as well as the ability to communicate this knowledge and enthusiasm to others including employees swimmers and coaching staff.
- Excellent decisionmaking skills. Ability to make sound effective decisions under the stress of an emergency situation.
- Ability to make an accurate visual assessment of the entire pool facility while instructing. Ability to see clearly up to 70 meters away.
