The Division of Family & Community Services is seeking to hire an energetic and detailoriented assistant administrator to oversee the operations of the Cook County Family and Community Resource Center in the Northwest Office. The position supervises and administers the activities of professional and nonprofessional staff providing casework services to applicants seeking public assistance or referrals. The Division helps Illinois residents by connecting them with many programs and services. Through our programs services and prevention efforts the Division improves the health and wellbeing of individuals and promotes selfsufficiency and integrity of families of Illinois.
Serves as Assistant Family and Community Resource Center (FCRC) Administrator.
Serves as fullline supervisor.
Confers with and advises subordinate supervisors concerning personnel problems and employee evaluation issues.
Translates functions/procedures into Spanish for individuals who cannot speak or read English in contact with the public advocacy groups customers and community organizations.
Conducts regularly and specially scheduled staff meetings to discuss interpret and implement new policies and procedures or changes in existing policies and procedures.
Plans and implements special management assignment projects.
Coordinates workflow throughout the office on a rotational basis.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Requiresknowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four 4 years of college.
Requires three 3 years progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization.
Requires ability to speak read and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level.
Two 2 years of professional supervisory experience assigning work providing guidance to subordinates recommending counseling and/or discipline following collective bargaining agreements training staff and approving time off.
Two 2 years of professional experience interpreting and implementing policies procedures and goals of public assistance services.
Four 4 years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization.
Two 2 years of professional casework experience using social casework methods techniques and principles gained through human services related college education or professional experience as a caseworker.
Two 2 years of professional experience providing technical training and assistance to staff to ensure the accurate and timely benefits in service delivery.
Two 2 years of professional experience in public speaking to small audiences.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
