Job Description

Third/Fourth Year Apprentice Mechanic

Rombola Family Farms encompasses over 4000 hectares of intensive irrigated horticultural production at Griffith (NSW) and Mataranka (NT). Agricultural enterprises include almonds wine grapes seedless watermelon rockmelons broccoli and pumpkin. Operations include primary production processing value adding and marketing.

We are seeking a passionate and driven Third/Fourth Year Apprentice Mechanic to join our team in Griffith NSW. As a Third/Fourth Year Apprentice Mechanic you will work closely with our experienced mechanics to learn the ins and outs of maintaining and repairing a diverse range of farm equipment. You will have the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge in realworld scenarios while contributing to our farms success.

The ideal candidate will embody a blend of enthusiasm for the mechanical trade a commitment to learning and a genuine interest in agricultural machinery. This position offers a platform for you to gain handson experience and develop your skills within our dynamic farm environment.

Key operational accountabilities include:

Assist in diagnosing repairing and maintaining farm machinery including tractors combines and other equipment.

Learn to perform routine maintenance tasks and follow preventative measures to ensure equipment longevity.

Gain handson experience in troubleshooting and addressing mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues.

Collaborate with the maintenance team to prioritize and complete repairs efficiently.

Working on mechanical electrical installations

To be successful in the role you will possess the following:

Be enrolled as a Third or Fourth Year Apprentice Mechanic in a relevant program.

Strong interest in agricultural machinery and mechanics.

Conduct tests and faultfinding measures rectifying as needed

Basic knowledge of mechanical systems tools and equipment.

Eagerness to learn ask questions and adapt to new challenges.

Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with the team.

Commitment to safety protocols and a positive attitude.

Rombola Family Farms is a large scale progressive privately owned horticultural business based 20kms North of Griffith NSW. The company operates a counterseasonal operation at Mataranka in the Northern Territory enabling us to supply our melon and pumpkin customers yearround.
