The Worldwide Sustainability (WWS) organization capitalizes on Amazons scale and speed to build a more resilient and sustainable company. We manage our social and environmental impacts globally and drive solutions that enable our customers businesses and the world to become more sustainable.
The Sustainability Measurement & Abatement Technology team builds technical solutions to track record and forecast Amazons WW impact on the Environment (i.e. Carbon Water Waste etc.. This includes calculating past and current impacts and future abatement plans ensuring credibility through standards and validations and highlighting nonobvious opportunities for Amazons global business teams.
We are seeking a Software Dev Engineer II.
Key job responsibilities
Design and develop critical components of world class scalable distributed systems.
Develop features and solutions that span the full software stack UX API DB ML modeling and Targeting.
Interface with our internal customers and technical leadership to inform and understand requirements and priorities.
Take on hard ambiguous problems and articulate solutions that will serve the broader Amazon.
Help develop longterm technical strategies in the product supply chain space.
Mentor and advise junior engineers

Our engineering team builds critical technologies that enable Amazon to measure and abate its global carbon footprint. Our tech spans realtime transactional services as well as big data processing pipelines. We partner with UX designers scientists data engineers business intelligence engineers and policy makers to ensure our products meet our customer needs. We are pushing the frontiers of sustainability technology across Amazons diverse business portfolio. 3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
