Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspects incoming materials by first performing a visual inspection of materials components and products received from suppliers and vendors.
- Verifies accompanying documentation such as packing slips.
- Counts all material to verify that the number of each product delivered matches the accompanying documentation.
- Identifies any deliveries where there are nonconformities between packing slips and number of items delivered.
- Communicates any supplier issues to relevant departments such as purchasing production and quality assurance to facilitate timely decisionmaking and corrective actions.
- Marks all materials delivered by adhering stickers and color coding for ease of finding and using at a later time and so that no further labeling is required.
- After all materials have been color coded and labeled the Inspector then releases them to the Warehouse.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance receiving inspection processes efficiency and effectiveness and contributes to overall quality improvement efforts.
Qualifications & Skills
- Working knowledge of receiving ASTM materials preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
- Bilingual abilities in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
