Job Description

Summary of Position:

The Aerial Lineman is responsible for installing repairing and maintaining coax and fiber optic communications cabling.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set poles and place anchors for overhead telecommunication lines
  • Install maintain troubleshoot and repair overhead power lines and associated equipment
  • Climb poles and towers and use bucket trucks to access power line
  • Test electrical equipment and components for proper operations
  • Read and interpret technical plans blueprints and diagrams
  • Follow all company and departmental procedures and regulations including all safety requirements
  • Safety training as required by position
  • Paperwork filing and maintenance as needed

Essential Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 months verifiable experience
  • Valid drivers license
  • Valid DOT Health Card
  • Possess strong knowledge of electrical safety safety regulations and industry standards
  • Ability to communicate and listen effectively with customers employees etc.
  • Basic knowledge of and ability to operate hand tools equipment and vehicles in a safe manner

Preferred Skill

  • Class A Drivers License (CDL)

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to endure activity involved with the job which may include prolonged and repeated lifting bending crouching climbing kneeling reaching holding standing and walking
  • Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds

Pay Scale: $23/hr to $35/hr
