Help protect one of Floridas most vital resources water with a career at theSouthwest Florida Water Management District (District).
The District is a government agency whose mission is to protect water resources minimize flood risks and ensure the publics water needs are met. We serve a population of nearly 6million people in westcentral Florida as directed by state law.
Support the Districts Design and Construction Management (DCM) Bureau by managing multiple tasks and priorities in fastpaced teamoriented environment. Here is your opportunity to assist the DCM section by performing tasks for project managers engineers and management while gaining realworld work experience. Tasks will include activities such as field work administrative processing calculations GIS processing map creation database entry construction site visits and data collection. The successful candidate will report to several project managers and will need to be a selfstarter to experience the diversity of work in which the Engineering and Construction sections perform. Must be willing to work both in the office and field to meet the requirements of this position and experience what an Engineer in the Engineering & Project Management Bureau does on a daily basis.

Most work is conducted in a standard office environment. This position requires the ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds. Must be able to operate a District vehicle for two hours or more at a time. May be exposed to extremes in temperature and humidity as well as a variety of pests including mosquitoes and accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Work environments vary by assigned business unit.
The District will determine eligibility for employment solely from the information provided on a District employment application. This position is typically scheduled to work no more than 25 hours per week between Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM out of the Brooksville FL office. Schedule is contingent upon the decision of the hiring manager and the successful candidate.
