Job Description

We are a rapidly growing residential building company that has been specialising in insurance repairs for over 20 years. With a dynamic team of highly skilled individuals and a strong background in construction and administration we are currently seeking an experienced Building Estimator/Supervisor to join our team.

This role offers a stimulating and varied workload with the flexibility to work remotely from your home office. This is a Cairnsbased role and applicants must reside in or near Cairns to be considered. Some travel may be required for training or during event times.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Carpentry trade qualification (minimum).
  • QBCC Site Supervisors license.
  • Recent experience in residential insurance repairs and renovations.
  • Good understanding of NCC QBCC and trade compliance.
  • Current drivers licence and clean driving history.
  • A positive and friendly cando approach to life and work.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and demonstrate energy.
  • Extremely reliable and dependable.
  • Wellpresented with a keen eye for detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to complete a police history check before starting.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word Excel Outlook).
  • A solid ability to apply practical judgment with a focus on safety customer service technology and quality.

Key duties include:

  • Conducting property inspections and compiling detailed causation reports.
  • Estimating residential building repairs/renovations.
  • Liaising with homeowners insurance companies and loss adjusters.
  • Supervising projects/repairs (both onsite and offsite).
  • Possible travel to assist with other regional QLD offices.
