Job Duties
Virginia Department of Taxation is looking for an enthusiastic individual who are interested in a position as a Collections Supervisor. As a Collections Supervisor you will provide leadership manage plan coordinate and evaluate the job responsibilities of internal a Memorandum of Lien specialist TOPS/Set Off specialist CSED specialist and Collections Representatives in the Tobacco Tax Unit. Other duties include providing support to the Collections Manager with administrative hearing accounts legal enforcement to include padlocks revocations and criminal warrants. Also serves a backup hearing officer for administrative hearings.
This position is eligible for two telework days (Monday and Friday) per week and three days (Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday) will be required to work from the Main Street Center Office.
The anticipated hiring salary is commensurate with experience up to $60000

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of Virginia State Tax Laws Rules and Regulations such as knowledge of cigarette and tobacco forms filing requirements and legislative updates
Skilled using a computer with a Windows environment basic troubleshooting and knowledge of common computer software programs including Microsoft Word Excel and Access
Ability to analyze financial and technical information to determine appropriate or alternate courses of action
Proven track record of sound decision making and good judgement while planning and executing tasks
Demonstrated ability to lead and direct staff within a team both in person and virtually and addresses any concerns timely and in a professional manner
Experience with process improvements and leading projects
Knowledge and experience with safeguarding sensitive information such as personally identifiable information and taxpayer data
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers in a professional courteous and tactful manner
Additional Considerations
Knowledge of call center etiquette de-escalation techniques and ability to resolve adversarial situations while interacting effectively with internal and external customers in a professional manner
Knowledge and/or experience with investigations and/or a background in criminal justice
Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business needs productivity metrics responsibilities and work independently or as part of a team.
