Job Description

New Life Center (NLC) is looking for a seasoned financial leader with expertise in federal funding and contracts. If you are a proficient and strategic Chief Financial Officer who can efficiently lead NLCs Financial Department with efficiency and effectiveness collaborating seamlessly with all agency departments please step forward! This position will also have the responsibility to oversee other areas of the agency to include IT government contract compliance facility operations and kitchen.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the strategic oversight and operations of NLCs finances government contract compliance technology systems and operations of the facilities maintenance and kitchen. This position ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions. The CFO will partner with program management and senior leadership to design systems built to meet participant and client needs by identifying possibilities vs. limits. In partnership with the CEO and board of directors the CFO will assume oversight and fiduciary responsibility of NLCs finance department.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

the direction of the CEO model effective and traumainformed leadership by being actively involved in agency administration with a focus in oversight of the finance department.
executive level financial projections budgeting strategies and business planning to ensure the agency maintains financially sound and forwardthinking.
& supervise staff including providing professional development performance management training and regularly scheduled supervision to direct reports and others as required.
oversee or manage through direct reports the agencys finance and accounting functions technology needs facilities maintenance housekeeping and kitchen.
and maintain all accounting journals and update general ledger as appropriate.
internal controls in compliance with agency policies and procedures federal and state regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
periodic and ad hoc financial reports for board of directors agency management and federal state and private funding sources.
employee payroll related tax deposits and quarterly and annual payroll reports.
all monthly bank reconciliations and submit for review and approval by the CEO.
financial reports for service contractors and funding sources and prepare monthly claims for all service contracts for review and approval by the CEO.
preparation for monitoring visits from government grantors and agencies as well as external independent audit firms.
the direction of the CEO meet with Board members and participate in agency planning sessions.
the review credit card expense documentation for accuracy and compliance with organizational finance policies.
organize and keep current agency and department budgets.
as liaison for annual accounting audit prepare materials and worksheets and work closely with auditors during the audit process.
administrative and payroll related transactions with benefit vendors 410k health and P&C insurances payroll/HRIS etc.
compliance with rules and regulations related to contracts and funding sources
through accurate and timely submission of reports.
with the administrative team to develop and implement plans for the operations infrastructure of systems processes policies and personnel.
with the administrative team to ensure goals and objectives from grants and other funding sources are met.
regularly with the CEO and fosters collaborative working relationships among other departments and community partners.
other duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

degree in Accounting Finance or related field and 5 years of Controller or similar experience in a Senior level Finance role for nonprofit agencies; other combinations of education and experience will be considered.
of all pertinent accounting rules and regulations as well as demonstrated proficiency in accounting software.
Arizona drivers license and insurance and access to reliable transportation.
possess or ability to successfully obtain Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance**
TB test required. **
with personal computers and various software programs including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
to work evenings as weekends as required.

**If necessary New Life Center will complete these areas of qualification during the onboarding process.

PREFERRED
knowledge of Human Resources functions processes and regulations as it pertains to payroll processing and other intersections with financial/accounting functions.
overseeing grant and federal funding requirements.
overseeing the management of facilities maintenance housekeeping and/or kitchen operations.
