Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and experienced RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an ICU setting preferred. The VAD Coordinator RN will be responsible for the comprehensive management and coordination of care for patients with ventricular assist devices ensuring highquality patient outcomes and adherence to clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the care of patients with ventricular assist devices (VADs) from preimplantation through postdischarge.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding VADs including device management troubleshooting and lifestyle adjustments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists surgeons and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patients clinical status and device function identifying and addressing any complications or issues promptly.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of VADrelated policies procedures and protocols.
  • Conduct regular followup appointments and assessments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
  • Provide training and education to nursing staff and other healthcare providers on VAD management and care.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred)

Experience:

  • Four 4 years of experience in clinical setting (required)
  • ICU experience preferre
  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with ventricular assist devices or other advanced cardiac support devices preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate patientcentered care.

Licensure:

  • Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky

Certification:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
