This position is in downtown Anchorage. This position works as part of a professional and clinical team.
We are interested in candidates who possess some or all of the following position specific competencies:
Pharmacy Technician 1
Two years of experience in a medical or medical supply field which required knowledge of pharmaceuticals and related supplies.
AND
Licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
Substitution:
An Associate degree in Pharmacy Technician from an accredited college completion of a postsecondary Pharmacy Technician certificate program with a minimum of 30 credits or certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board will substitute for the required experience.
Special Note:
Normal color vision is required. The department will verify this at the time of interview. Pharmacy Technicians 1 require licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska. See 12 AAC 52.230. Pharmacy Technicians.
CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECKS/APSIN/ACOMS
Please be aware this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN)/Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has beenconvicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
RECRUITMENT DIFFICULTIES
Starting salary may be approved up to Step D$28.71 if criteria are met.
EDUCATIONIf postsecondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications you must fill in the Education section of the application. If you have not obtained a degree please indicate the number of units completed. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials if used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position. Transcripts can be attached at the time of application or provided at the time of interview at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the minimum qualifications listed above. If utilizing this education you must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs; or an accredited U.S. postsecondary institution reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the postsecondary institution. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.

This position is flexibly staffed. The level of the job offer will be based on the selected candidates eligibility. If hired at the lower level you will be promoted to the higherlevel job class after completing the training plan and meeting the minimum qualifications.
