- The Alaska Department of Corrections Pharmacy Division of Health and Rehabilitation Services is recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician 1/2 located in Anchorage Alaska.Watch Alaska DOC HARS video here:
Assist pharmacists in the processing preparation and distribution of medication orders. Will assist in formulary maintenance and other tasks as defined by the practice of pharmacy.

Minimum Qualifications
Pharmacy Technician 1
Two years of experience in a medical or medical supply field which required knowledge of pharmaceuticals and related supplies.
ANDLicensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
Substitution:
An Associate degree in Pharmacy Technician from an accredited college completion of a postsecondary Pharmacy Technician certificate program with a minimum of 30 credits or certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board will substitute for the required experience.
Special Note:
Normal color vision is required. The department will verify this at the time of interview. Pharmacy Technicians 1 require licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska. See 12 AAC 52.230. Pharmacy Technicians.
Pharmacy Technician 2
Three years of experience in a medical or medical supply field which required knowledge of pharmaceuticals and related supplies.
AND
Licensure as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
AND
National Certification as a pharmacy technician in the State of Alaska.
Special Note:

CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECKS/APSIN/ACOMSPlease be aware this position requires the use of the Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN)/Alaska Corrections Offender Management System (ACOMS). A security clearance issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS) is necessary to use APSIN/ACOMS. DPS will deny security clearance for any applicant who has beenconvicted of a felony or misdemeanor in this state or another jurisdiction or who may be a fugitive from justice. Additionally security clearance will be withdrawn if DPS discovers that material information was falsified or omitted at the time of the initial application for security clearance.
RECRUITMENT DIFFICULTIES
Starting salary may be approved up to Step D$28.71 if criteria are met.
EDUCATIONIf postsecondary education is required to meet the minimum qualifications you must fill in the Education section of the application. Copies of transcripts are required to verify educational credentials if used to meet the minimum qualifications for a position.
