Position Overview
The Division of Family and Community Services is seeking to hire a position to serve a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Analyst. This position reviews and interprets case review findings and completes data analysis of SNAP quality control (QC) reviews evaluates reports detailing the results of analysis; analyzes the efficiency of SNAP programs and serves as a liaison for the agency regarding Quality Control case review findings with Family and Community Resource Centers (FCRCs). This position also evaluates methods for the purpose of reducing the statewide SNAP payment error rate.
Essential Functions
- Serves as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Analyst.
- Reviews management and research analysis of SNAP errors identified in QC reviews.
- Prepares reports on success or failure to assess impact on operations.
- Performs specialized assignments.
- Ensures United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) and Department of Human Services (DHS) processing deadlines are met.
- Oversees the FNS customer complaint process including contacting the office regarding the complaint and the action taken to resolve the complaint controlling and followup for the office response and responding to FNS with the followup information within the specified timeframes.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned with are reasonably within the scope of duties listed above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four 4 years of college preferably with coursework in business or public administration.
- Requires one 1 year of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization OR completion of an agency approved professional management training program.
Specialized Skills
- Of the one 1 year of required experience requires one 1 year of experience working independently with policy procedures eligibility or reporting requirements for a nutrition assistance program such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
Preferred Qualifications
- One 1 year of professional experience working independently with policy procedures eligibility or reporting requirements for a nutrition assistance program such as SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).
- One 1 year of experience examining and evaluating data by analyzing problems and developing and coordinating an effective course of action in accordance with specific criteria.
- One 1 year of professional experience working in a position that handles nutrition assistance policy casework practices and eligibility or quality control for a supplemental nutrition assistance program.
- One 1 year of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and the ability to utilize critical thinking skills while multitasking multiple projects.
- One 1 year of professional experience preparing concise accurate and comprehensive quantitative reports detailing the results of analysis both orally and in writing using Microsoft Office products.
- One 1 year of professional experience interpreting results of case reviews and developing corrective action techniques.
Conditions of Employment
- Requires basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word Outlook and a public assistance eligibility system such as the Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES).
