Job Description
As a Accounting Team Lead you will report to the Finance Director and play a key role in the Accounting team. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across various departments including Finance Operations and Sales to ensure efficient financial processes.
Responsibilities & Authorities
- Coordinate the monthend closing process in line with closing deadlines ensuring compliance with key policies and procedures.
- Interpret and perform complex accounting transactions including payroll processing provisions and intercompany transactions.
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts and profit and loss accounts.
- Support the preparation of internal and external audits and annual reports.
- Oversee the correct processing of WIP and CAPEX.
- Ensure accurate reporting of turnover based on monthly invoices and sales.
- Act as a sparring partner for the Finance Director and Controllers providing insights and strategic support.
- Prepare the corporate tax return monthly VAT declarations and Intrastat declarations.
- Maintain and oversee bank accounts including dashboards and external contacts.
- Represent the accounting domain in meetings with internal stakeholders from various functions and departments.
- Lead the Accounting team (AR/AP/GL) and drive process improvements in the Accounting department.
- Develop and maintain financial procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Oversee the backup process within the Accounting team and step in when necessary.
- Serve as the Functional Owner for Finance IT applications including Exact and Scansys.
Qualifications :
- You have a Master or Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting.
- You have at least 6 years of relevant work experience preferably in an international environment.
- Experience with Exact or similar accounting software is a plus.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English both written and spoken.
- You have a handson mentality but can also think strategically.
- You are an excellent communicator and a strong team leader.
