GEICO Technology is seeking an experienced Engineer II to join our new Legal Technology organization. You will build and maintain enterprise legal solutions that operate in a highly performant efficient and complaint way. You will play a pivotal role in design and development of legal solutions shape architecture and drive innovation to meet the evolving business needs within the Legal Department. Timely delivery of impactful projects that enhance GEICOs legal service delivery will be a focus.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in software development been a key contributor within an engineering team and have legal or similar domain exposure with the skills to collaborate with engineering peers and wide variety of legal stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities
As an Engineer II you will:
Scope design and build scalable resilient distributed systems
Engage in crossfunctional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
Participate in design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization
Utilize programming languages like JavaScript Python Java or other objectoriented languages SQL and NoSQL databases Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes and a variety of Azure tools and services
Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
Build product definition and leverage your technical skills to drive towards the right solution
Qualifications
Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java C or C# including objectoriented design
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Indepth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
Understanding of existing Operational Portals such as Azure Portal
Understanding of HTML5 JavaScript/TypeScript XML and JSON
Understanding of microservices oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs
Understanding of monitoring tools
Intermediate PowerShell scripting skills
Intermediate level understanding of Azure Network such as security zones VNETs and Public Peered Services
Understanding of Azure PaaS and IaaS services
Understanding of security protocols and products such as: Active Directory Windows Authentication SAML OAuth
Experience in Datacenter structure capabilities and offerings including the Azure platform and its native services
Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management source code building deployment operations realtime communication)
Understanding of DevOps Concepts Cloud Architecture and Azure DevOps Operational Framework
Analysis and estimation skills
Strong problemsolving ability
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to excel in a fastpaced startuplike environment
Experience
2 years of noninternship professional software development experience
2 years of experience with architecture and design
2 years of experience with AWS GCP Azure or another cloud service
2 years of experience in opensource frameworks
Desired Experience
4 years of software architecture and development/coding experience.
3 years of experience with systems architecture and design
3 years of development in a largescale missioncritical environment
2 years of experience with automated testing including Unit Integration and EndtoEnd functional testing
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent education or work experience

Annual Salary
$34.74 $160000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include but are not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the role the selected candidates work experience education and training the work location as well as market and business considerations.
