Job Description

Overview

Covenant College residence halls provide a special opportunity for community and spiritual growth. So to better serve students on each hall and promote more opportunities for discipleship the Chapel Department and Residence Life team have worked together to create the Discipleship Assistant position. The primary responsibility of a Discipleship Assistant is to facilitate a bible study in their residence hall each semester.

Expected Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a Bible study in the building or on the hall each semester.
  • Support the RA (if requested) to plan Prayer and Praise.
  • Attend Prayer and Praise every week and invite others to join you.
  • Work with RDs to plan and implement allbuilding Prayer and Praise according to the needs of the building.
  • Attend staff and 1:1 meetings as required.
    • Every month each DA will:
      • Meet with Edith for Bible Study Preparation sessions with other DAs 2x/month)
      • Meet with Edith 1:1 3x/year)
      • Meet with RD 1x/Semester)
      • Meet with RA 1x/month)
      • Meet with other DAs to support each other every other week
  • Attend training sessions 1x/semester)
  • Attend Chapel Department fellowship gatherings 1x/semester)
  • Attend Planted Conference in April and do assigned reading during the summer.
