Position Summary
The Senior Vice President of Intellectual and Developmental (I/DD) Services is an executivelevel leader responsible for overseeing the operations strategic direction and mission of an organization that provides services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Reporting directly to the CEO/President this role ensures the organization delivers highquality personcentered services while fostering advocacy innovation and growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in social work psychology healthcare administration or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in leadership roles within the I/DD or related healthcare services sector.
- Proven track record in strategic planning operations management and staff leadership.
- Strong advocacy skills and knowledge of laws and regulations affecting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Exceptional communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Vision:
- Shape and drive the organizations vision and strategy to fulfill its mission of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to set ambitious yet achievable organizational goals.
- Identify and implement strategies to continuously improve services and expand the organizations reach and impact.
Operations and Program Excellence:
- Provide leadership in the design development and implementation of innovative evidencebased programs.
- Ensure services adhere to the highest standards of care compliance and effectiveness while being personcentered and inclusive.
- Monitor and analyze organizational performance using datadriven insights to inform operational adjustments and improvements.
Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Advocate for the rights inclusion and equitable opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at local state and national levels.
- Build and strengthen relationships with stakeholders community leaders government agencies and partner organizations.
- Represent the organization at conferences events and forums to promote its mission and accomplishments.
Leadership and Staff Development:
- Cultivate a positive inclusive workplace culture that promotes collaboration and continuous learning.
- Mentor senior management and foster leadership development across the organization.
- Establish performance benchmarks and evaluate the effectiveness of teams and individuals in meeting organizational goals.
Financial and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
- Seek and secure funding opportunities including grants donations and partnerships.
- Oversee resource allocation to maximize organizational efficiency and impact.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulatory and ethical standards governing I/DD services.
- Develop proactive risk management strategies to protect clients staff and organizational assets.
- Stay current with changing laws and policies affecting the I/DD community and adapt organizational practices accordingly.
Innovation and Research:
- Drive the adoption of technologies and practices that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
- Partner with research institutions and thought leaders to advance knowledge in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Foster a culture of innovation and creativity throughout the organization.
Physical Requirements
- Light physical demands: occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force primarily sedentary work with occasional walking or standing.
