This position is internal to University of Colorado ORP Retirees.
Job Summary:
The MIBH currently seeks a Behavioral Health (BH) clinician who will work within an interdisciplinary team setting. The position will provide individual BH patient assessments to determine the level of behavioral and psychological function and subsequent treatment recommendations. As part of the treatment experience for patients at the MIBH the BH practitioner will provide education and trauma informed therapy for IOP cohorts consisting of approximately six ten patients. The position must adhere to the State of Colorado Code of Ethics for his/her relevant discipline.
Examples of Work Performed
The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
Conducting initial health and behavior assessments for individual patients during the evaluation phase of care
Communicating results of the assessment to the interdisciplinary team and the patient in a professional and culturally competent manner (military and responder)
Working independently and within an interdisciplinary team to implement a treatment plan and adjust it according to clinical needs of the patient
Providing individual education and trauma informed behavioral health treatment addressing a wide range of behavioral and social aspects of brain health
Conducting education for individuals groups and family members with a focus on sleep mood regulation anxiety reduction strategies and overall brain health
Building relationships with patients that foster early communication of risky situations to allow for preventative interventions
Preparing appropriate documentation in a timely and culturally sensitive manner including evaluations progress notes treatment plans and charges
Assist in developing program processes policies and procedures and best practices

The Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a clinical care and research institute for persons with mild to moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI) and associated physical and physiological health conditions such as posttraumatic stress depression and anxiety. The primary focus of the MIBH is to provide an interdisciplinary care team approach for military Veterans and activeduty personnel and first responders who have sustained mild to moderate TBI and are experiencing persistent posttraumatic symptoms and problems including cognitive physical and behavioral dysfunction. This includes comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) that integrates conventional medicine with complementary and alternative treatment modalities.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in social work Clinical Psychology or Counseling
Colorado license in their professional discipline or ability to obtain license
3 years direct patient care experience with patients with TBI and behavioral health problems
3 years direct experience in evidencesupported clinical trauma resolution techniques such as EMDR PE CPT or Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
Demonstrated ability to work successfully within an interdisciplinary care team
Preferred Qualifications
5 years direct patient care experience with patients with TBI and behavioral health problems
PhD in Social Work Clinical Psychology or Counseling preferred
Clinical experience working with military Veterans and activeduty service members
Clinical experience working with individuals with sleep problems chronic suicidality chronic pain and addiction
Knowledge of substance use disorders
Advanced certification such as Certified Brain Injury Specialist
Experience in clinical program development
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
To be successful in this position candidates will need the following:

Clinical skill and flexibly in conducting psychotherapy interventions with complex patients to address individual needs
Clinical skill in conducting brief and targeted assessments to provide psychotherapy interventions health and behavior change and triage for individuals in crisis
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at all levels throughout the MIBH and the University of Colorado
Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats
Ability to maintain a positive and cooperative attitude as well as solution focused approaches to problem solving
Ability to organize and prioritize with minimal direction and maintain a wellorganized work environment
Desire to work within a mission driven patient centered environment
Ability to problemsolve use good judgement and navigate diverse personalities and various belief systems
Ability to search and critically review best evidence to guide clinical decision making and effectively share knowledge with colleagues

Ability to work under moderate to high levels of stress
Current knowledge of or willingness to learn about military and first responder cultures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer skills including the ability to work with a variety of applications

The starting salary range or hiring range for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
The hiring range for this position has been established at $72.00 per hour.
