Job Description:

JOB DUTIES: This position works under the direction of the Park Superintendent. Supervision development and implementation of Platte River State Parks Walter Scott Jr. Lodge. Carry out assigned tasks related to the operation and maintenance of park restaurant to include the food prep cooking catering cleaning and maintenance of facility. Hire train schedule and supervise seasonal workforce for the above listed area. Work closely with groups and organizations to cater special events held at the park. Assist with the supervision and perform technical and practical work supporting the management and park operation. During restaurant off season assist with office kiosk housekeeping and OHEC shooting range as needed. Publicize Park areas and the Agencys mission program and goals by means of personal appearance before interested groups. Assist in handling administrative and data collections functions. Maintain records and prepare appropriate reports. Perform related work as assigned or required.


Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in park/recreation management or a related field; (wildlife fisheries natural resources sciences public administration history cultural resource preservation or interpretation travel and tourism and planning) AND one year related experience. Related coursework/training and/or experience in park/recreation management or related field may substitute for the Bachelors degree on a yearforyear basis.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to plan manage analyze and evaluate park programs. Knowledge of the principles techniques and application of park and cultural resources management and conservation. Knowledge of departmental rules and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain community and public relations with business special interest groups and state local and federal agencies. Knowledge of park operations administration and financial management. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Ability to supervise subordinate staff and to enforce park rules and regulations.
