About USHJA
The United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) is dedicated to supporting and advancing equestrian sports through comprehensive programs education and competition. We are currently seeking a Sports Program Coordinator to join our Sports Department and help drive the success of our sport programs.
Position Summary
The Sports Program Coordinator plays a vital role in the development and of USHJAs sport programs. This position will oversee various program initiatives facilitate professional relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders including the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) to plan and implement championship events.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Leadership:
- Oversee and implement sports programs and services
- Analyze existing programs and collaborate with leadership to enhance offerings
- Develop strategies to address program challenges
Operations & Program Management:
- Serve as the primary liaison between USHJA leadership committees and departments
- Manage workflow related to planning development and implementation of sports programs
- Support committee operations and facilitate communication among stakeholders
- Assist in the planning and of USEF & USHJA championship events
Team & Relationship Management:
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective program coordination
- Foster a culture of teamwork excellence and service
- Engage with committee members and equestrian professionals to enhance program impact
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree with 23 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of the equestrian industry particularly hunter/jumper disciplines through competition event management or administration
- Strong project management skills with a history of successfully leading initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal and relationshipbuilding abilities
- Exceptional communication skillsboth written and verbal
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and internet research tools
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel (by air and automobile) for events and meetings including occasional overnight and weekend work
- Ability to work flexible hours including afterhours and weekends for special projects
