Summary/Objective of Position:
The successful applicant must have the background and experience to teach courses in algebra and calculusbased physics introduction engineering and mathematics courses in an Associate of Science in PreEngineering or an Associate of Science in Physics program. The ability to teach upperdivision math courses is also preferred. A Ph.D. in physics or engineering is preferred. and the ability to mentor students to assist them in gaining admission to engineering or physics programs in an appropriate 4year university.

- A fulltime College faculty member is responsible for instruction assessment advising committee work and service to the College.
- Other duties may include grant management research academic advising and mentoring assessment of courses and programs or specific academic endeavors.
- A College faculty member is critical in creating maintaining assessing and reflecting upon a learning environment where academic discipline interweaves with the College mission to support student learning and the Din Educational Philosophy.
- The time days and site(s) for teaching courses vary and the mode of delivery includes online instructions a required certification of Quality Matters.
- As a multisite college faculty are required to teach and/or use hybrid or all online courses.
- The successful applicant must have the background and experience to teach courses in Mathematics and Algebra Based Physics and Calculusbased Physics.
- A minimum of a Masters degree in Physics and a Ph.D. in physics or engineering is preferred.
- 95 Instruction and Curriculum: Times days and site(s) for the teaching of courses vary and mode of delivery may include online teaching. As a multisite college faculty may be required to teach at satellite centers. Time release of up to 40 may be provided to faculty who establish competitive and sustainable research programs subject to budgeting such release is in external funding proposals.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Minimum:
- An M.S. degree in either physics or engineering will be considered.
Preferred:
- A Ph.D. degree in either physics or engineering and industrial experience is preferred.
Knowledge:
Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office is essential.
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink simulation software (or their equivalent) is highly desirable.
Abilities:
- The ability to apply knowledge of physics and engineering to practical problems and research topics is essential.
Physical Requirements Work Environment & Travel:
- The ability to lift lab equipment weighing 40 lbs teach in the classroom setting and travel occasionally.
