Job Description:
DUTIES
Provide supervision to a caseload of parolees and adult sex offenders on lifetime supervision.
Conduct validated risk assessments placement investigations and home visits. Counsel and assist offenders in adjusting to the community. Develop offender case plans based on criminogenic needs and conduct cognitive classes for parolees.
Collaborate with employers institutional staff area law enforcement mental health boards county attorneys and treatment providers regarding behavior and treatment of offenders. Conduct violation investigations searches drug testing and arrests.
Testify in court and at the Parole Board hearings. Prepare reports and maintain case files. Cover an assigned territory.
Travel will be required.
Monday Friday 8:3016:30 one late night a week 12:0020:00 and one weekend day a month.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in corrections criminal justice sociology psychology social work counseling public administration or a related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a yearforyear basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in criminal justice behavioral science human services or related field. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to adapt to various situations. Experience working with individuals in the criminal justice system community resources and stakeholders.
Other: This position requires travel. Must have a valid drivers license. Work schedule will include one weekly late night and one weekend day per month. Will serve as On Call Officer on a rotational basis. Regular and reliable attendance is required. Applicant accepting a job offer must pass the following exams in this order: medical exam and at a randomly announced time pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
