Visiting Assistant Professor Department of Chemistry
St. Edwards University a nationally ranked independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) invites applications for a fulltime 9month Visiting Assistant Professor position in the Department of Chemistry beginning August 2025 St. Edwards is characterized by its commitment to the Holy Cross educational mission of educating the hearts and minds of a diverse student body deeply committed to social justice.
The successful candidate will teach introductory chemistry courses and participate in other school and department service activities.

For consideration candidates must have a Masters degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry. Successful candidates will demonstrate potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.
Essential Responsibilities Include: Candidates should have the interest and ability or potential to teach various undergraduate courses and support a diverse student body. Other essential responsibilities include:
- Teaching four courses per semester according to departmental needs.
- Teaching introductory courses in chemistry to both majors and nonmajors.
- Participating in other school and department service activities where applicable.
- Opportunities to teach upper division courses according to the candidates expertise.
- Other duties as assigned

The School of Natural Sciences has experienced significant growth in the last decade attributable to its distinguished faculty facilities including over 110000 square feet of teaching and laboratory space and our approach to engaging undergraduates in the classroom and in research. The Department of Chemistry offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Chemistry B. S. degrees in Biochemistry Forensic Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry along with a minor in Chemistry.
