Primary Responsibilities
Summary The Librarys Interlibrary Loan Department is hiring a parttime student worker! This position involves helping students staff and faculty access books and articles from other libraries when we dont have them in our collection. Its a great opportunity for someone who is detailoriented dependable and interested in learning more about library services. Primary Responsibilities Typical daily duties for this position will include: Process borrowed ILL items received by mail to prepare them for patron use. Handle and check in ILL items returned by patrons. Assist with processing requests for items owned by the library. Retrieve requested items from the shelves. Scan articles from libraryowned items for Interlibrary Loan or Document Delivery (ScanIt) and send them electronically to other libraries or patrons. Package and mail returnable ILL items to partner libraries or directly to offcampus patrons through the Direct Mail service. Perform additional tasks as needed to support the ILL team. All job duties occur within the typical Monday through Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm work week and some level of afternoon availability 12:00pm to 5:00pm) is strongly preferred. Employees must follow the library dress code. Some lifting of up to 20lbs pushing and pulling of library carts bending reaching and dexterity for repetitive tasks are required with modifications and accommodations provided as needed.
