Job Description

The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for Development Operations and Events Coordinator Lee Business School R0147181.

ROLE of the POSITION

The Development Operations and Events Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the development operational and donor relations efforts of the Lee Business School by managing a broad portfolio of responsibilities that span highprofile event coordination support of the development team/officers financial oversight and external/internal communications. This position reports to the Director of Finance and Business Administration but will also take direction from and complete assigned tasks as instructed by the Senior Director of Development. Both functions are integral to the success of the role and are to be carried out as instructed.

The Coordinator is responsible for the planning logistics and vendor management for events including but not limited to the Nevada Business Hall of Fame Thought Leader Series Outlook Lee Scholar Luncheon and the Scholarship Donor Luncheon. Duties include facilitating preevent planning meetings; coordinating and processing payment for all event logistics such as space reservations catering developing invitations mailing list and tracking RSVPs; media/AV support registration and parking; creating and managing event timelines; overseeing onsite operations and vendor relations; ensuring contract compliance; and conducting postevent evaluations and reporting. The Coordinator is expected to maintain proactive and transparent communication with all stakeholders throughout the event lifecycle. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.

Equally important the Coordinator supports operations including but not limited to processing spend authorizations and expense reports for the Development Team generating invoices tracking payments managing budgets and handling financial reporting endowment tracking and donation processing in coordination with the UNLV Foundation and Lee Business School departments centers and units. This role ensures timely notification to department chairs and center directors regarding received gifts fund transfers as well as participates in donor stewardship activities and maintains consistent communication and customer service to support compliance and proper use of gift funds.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong intuition and foresightproactively anticipating needs identifying gaps and initiating solutions with minimal direction. This collaborative role requires exceptional attention to detail the ability to manage multiple priorities and a customer serviceoriented approach in working with diverse internal and external partners.

This position is considered essential and may be eligible for a limited Flexible Work Schedule (FWS) with the bulk of work performed on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires aBachelors degreefrom an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) anda minimum of one year of professional experience in administrative support event planning project coordination development operations or a related field. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three to five years of professional experience in administrative or event support ideally within higher education or a fundraising environment

  • Experience with travel reimbursement processing procurement workflows and financial tracking

  • Prior involvement in customer service or stakeholderfacing roles that require discretion and professionalism

  • Familiarity with Workday CRM or donor databases (e.g. Salesforce iFolio Raisers Edge) and event management platforms such as Eventbrite or Constant Contact

  • Experience supervising student workers or volunteers particularly in event settings

  • Comfort creating donor communications reports or event materials using platforms such as Canva or Microsoft Publisher
