Job Description:

The Central Nebraska Veterans Home is gearing up for our next C.N.A training class beginning in June! If you are passionate about caring for others and youre looking to further your career you have come to the right place!

We have full and part time evening positions 2nd shift) and part time 3rd shift positions available!

Incumbents for this position will be understaffed as Staff Care Technician I while in training. Once the certification process is successfully completed they will be transitioned to Staff Care Technician II. Pay Rate for Staff Care Tech I: $16.70/hour plus $3 differential $19.70/hr. Pay Rate for Staff Care Tech II: $20.14/hour plus $3 differential$23.14/hr.

This is a 2week allday course 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. that runs June 26 and June 913. On site testing for certification will follow successful completion of the course.



Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

CNA training class: Must be at least 18 years of age.

CNA position: Must be at least 18 years of age completed a state approved 76hour nurse aide training course and competency evaluation program and be listed on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.



Knowledge of: principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; Nebraska Medication Aide Act medication administration and adverse medication reactions; regulations governing nursing assistants; practices and principles of providing basic nursing assistance; infection control practices; HIPAA regulations; abuse and neglect identification and prevention; safety principles; privacy and dignity principles.

Skill in: providing basic nursing assistance administering medications; developing positive relationships with others.

Ability to: recognize adverse medication reactions and take appropriate action; follow oral and written instructions in exact detail; lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and push/pull occasionally up to 75 lbs. on a daily basis; frequently bend at the waist and neck and frequently twist at the waist and walk or stand up to 90 of the shift; interact with members and others in a positive manner and be flexible to meet changing demands of the job; lift turn and/or repositions members as needed.
