Sr Director Technology Architecture

Position Summary:

The role is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the VP of Data AI and Architecture. This strategic position is responsible for developing and executing the enterprisewide technology architecture vision aligning it with business objectives and driving digital transformation initiatives. The role requires exceptional leadership skills to guide a team of architects and engineers as well as the ability to influence and gain buyin from stakeholders across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

Strategic Vision and Roadmap Development

• Lead the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive technology architecture roadmap encompassing both core infrastructure/platform enhancements and digital transformation initiatives
• Collaborate with business leaders to translate strategic priorities into architectural requirements and technical solutions
• Develop and articulate compelling business cases and ROI analyses for proposed architecture initiatives quantifying both hard and soft benefits

Leadership and Team Development

• Guide and mentor a team of senior architects and engineers fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• Empower team members to identify and propose architectural solutions that align with the overall roadmap
• Develop measurable objectives for the team that support organizational goals and drive technological advancement

Stakeholder Engagement and Influence

• Build strong relationships with business and technology leaders across the organization
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and architecture strategies to both technical and nontechnical audiences including executive leadership
• Demonstrate proven success in gaining buyin for both core infrastructure/platform enhancements and digital transformation initiatives

Technology Strategy and Governance

• Establish and maintain technology standards methodologies and processes to govern the IT landscape
• Evaluate emerging technologies and their potential business applications recommending strategic investments
• Ensure alignment between technology architecture and overall business strategy

Value Quantification and ROI Analysis

• Develop robust methodologies for quantifying the value of technology investments including both tangible and intangible benefits
• Create compelling business cases that clearly articulate the ROI of proposed architecture initiatives
• Utilize financial metrics and costbenefit analyses to support decisionmaking and budget allocation

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in computer science Information Systems or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• A masters degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
• 10 years of experience in technology architecture with a proven track record of leading enterprisescale initiatives.
• Demonstrated success in gaining organizational buyin for both infrastructure and digital transformation projects.
• Strong background in ROI analysis and business case development for technology investments.
• Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies.
• Expertise in cloud platforms microservices API management and emerging technologies.
• Experience with architecture modeling tools and techniques.
• Strong grasp of financial principles related to technology investments and ROI calculation.
• Exceptional ability to influence and gain buyin across organizational boundaries.
• Proven track record of leading and developing highperforming technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Strategic thinking balanced with pragmatic delivery focus.
