Job Description

This position on the health plan side of the organization (Priority Health) and is eligible for remote employment. States that are not eligible for remote employment at this time are California New York North Dakota Wyoming and Washington.

This team will not be able to sponsor for employment visas now or in the future.

Job Summary

Partners with the business to turn data into critical information and knowledge. Possesses a fundamental understanding of healthcare and/or data and analytics. Develops reporting and analytic solutions with knowledge of the primary source data (i.e. claims membership provider utilization management prior authorizations/appeals care management) and workflows. Develops relationships with users for direct consumption or integration with other systems. BI Developers promote data literacy by educating and training customers to use the data as an analytical tool displaying the information for the purpose of analysis and exploration. Under minimal supervision designs codes configures tests debugs deploys documents and maintains programs. Uses a variety of software development tools programming languages and testing/verification applications. Their work adheres to development best practices and quality standards. Gathers business requirements and translates the information into detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written or configured and to validate that the proposed applications align with both the architectural design and business needs. Works closely with other BIDs BIAs Data Engineers Data Scientists and internal/external customers.

Essential Functions

  • Designs codes configures tests debugs deploys documents and maintains selfservice reporting assets.
  • With minimal assistance translates and documents business program needs into a technical solution using visuals and creating data sources metrics and automation. Visuals data sources and automation will be created from claim adjudication systems reporting tools and databases (ie Clarity Caboodle Epic Registries Epic Extract Framework Custom Radar SQL metrics Data Links and Predictive Model configuration) cloud reporting systems (ie Snowflake) and other tools (ie IICS dbt GoAnywhere Tableau PowerBI etc..
  • Provides analytics that can turn data into critical information in understanding a business problem.
  • Independently able to provide troubleshooting maintenance support oversight and technical guidance.
  • Possesses working knowledge of workflows in multiple business areas to support data development analytics and quality improvement activities.
  • Performs jobrelated duties in conformance with digital services standards and may initiate new/improved standards.
  • Participates in agile ceremonies determining the nature and scope of project activities and processes to be developed or modified working across teams to communicate development dependencies to accomplish a final solution.
  • Works with data engineers and data architects as the architect designs relational and dimensional data models to verify that the model meets the use cases and aligns with strategic direction.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in business liberal arts computer science application programming software development information systems database administration mathematics engineering or another related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced level visualization experience with PowerBI or Tableau
  • Intermediate SQL Python and Snowflake experience
  • Experience with JIRA Confluence and Agile

Preferred

  • Health Plan data experience specifically with in Care Management Utilization Management Appeals and Grievances
  • Payer Core System experience (i.e. Facets or Epic for Health Plans UI)
  • Experience with Epic Cogito tools (i.e. Radar Reporting Workbench SlicerDicer and the Analytics Catalog)
  • Experience working with Epics data warehouses (i.e. Clarity Caboodle Chronicles)
