Job Description

Weekly outpatient therapy isnt always enough and a trip to the ER isnt the only answer. Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis every day wehelp people overcome depression anxiety suicidality obsessions/compulsions trauma chronic pain and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

The Medical Intake Coordinator is responsible for the medical registration of new patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to communicate patient health information that requires treatment planning and/or further medical consultation.

Our stateoftheart facility in Oak Brook is modern bright and creates an inviting therapeutic space for both patients and employees alike.

What Youll Do:

  • Manages the medical registration process of patients entering the healthcare facility
  • Provides administrative support to the Nursing Department and Psychiatry Department
  • Collects and documents intake information such as medication and health history
  • Communicates and collaborates with the nursing team regarding intake information
  • Collects and documents of vital signs height weight
  • Drafting medical documentation and lab orders under the direction of the psychiatry provider
  • Transcribing medical information to patients charts & communicating pertinent information to the treatment team
  • Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patient family and client facility staff.
  • Provides supplementary assistance with infection control and prevention measures
  • Medication medical supply and equipment inventory
  • Initiating Prior Authorizations for medications and diagnostic tests
  • Participates in professional development activities
  • All other duties within the scope of training as assigned by the Director of Nursing

Consults with:

  • Psychiatrists Nurse Practitioners Program Directors Staff Therapists Staff Nurses and Administrative Staff

Who You Are:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and therapeutic communication skills
  • Robust organizational and time management skills with noteworthy attention to detail
  • Team player with adaptiveness and agility
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy (highly preferred)
  • Medical Assistant (preferred)
  • Current CPR certification (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of pharmaceuticals (preferred)
  • Experience in mental health care (preferred)

Physical Requirements

  • Often required to walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit and stoop kneel or crouch.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Schedule (schedule of 40 hours/week)

  • Monday through Friday 8:30am4:30pm
  • Schedule flexibility given patient and program needs

This range includes multiple career path levels across the organization; where you fall in the range is dependent upon a number of factors including but not limited to your years of experience type of experience location and education/certifications. Compensation

$20 $23 USD
