Summary


This position is open to qualified S.E.I.U. Wastewater Local 925 Senior Operators with a Group III Wastewater Treatment Certificate issued by the Washington State Department of Ecology. Selection will follow Article 8.7 of the Local 925 CBA.



The King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) has a staffing need for an experienced and technically proficient Wastewater Treatment Senior Operator in Charge (SOIC West Point CCrew).

About the Role:
The responsibilities of this position include planning scheduling coordinating directing monitoring and reviewing a crews daily work assigned treatment process and/or special project. Incumbents lead train and provide technical expertise to operate monitor and maintain wastewater treatment and odor control equipment and/or collection and conveyance systems and processes. Responsibilities also include coordinating onsite responses to unusual occurrences and emergencies and may fill in for the Wastewater Treatment Supervisor.

Required Certifications and Licenses:
  • Washington State Group lll Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification from the Washington State Department of Ecology.
  • Valid Washington State Drivers License.
  • City of Seattle Boiler Operator Grade III license.
