Job Title: Summer Special Education Program Teacher Aide
Pay: $16.50/hour
Term of Employment: July 10 2024 August 20 2024
Location: Monroe One BOCES 41 OConnor Road Fairport NY 14450; various locations
Job Description:
Looking to make a meaningful impact in just a few weeks this summer Join Monroe One BOCES and support students with disabilities in a rewarding handson role. As a Summer Special Education Program Teacher Aide youll play a vital part in creating a supportive learning environment for students while gaining valuable classroom experience.
What Youll Be Doing:
Provide instructional support to students with disabilities both individually and in small groups under the guidance of certified teachers.
Assist with supervision in classrooms hallways cafeterias playgrounds and more.
Help manage classroom behavior using positive behavior support and crisis intervention strategies.
Prepare materials support lessons and help with classroom organization and record keeping.
Use your own unique skills to support learning in areas like art music recreation or vocational training.
Ride the school bus with students and participate in offcampus communitybased learning activities.
Assist students in both therapeutic and traditional pool settings.
Support students with selfcare mobility and daily living needs.
Attend meetings and participate in ongoing professional development.
Be a team playerready to jump in wherever needed!

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Civil Service eligibility for Teacher Aide/Paraeducator (includes one year of clerical or childcare experience or relevant certification).
Ability to perform physical job duties such as lifting ambulating and using physical intervention techniques.
Must be comfortable assisting with both hygienic support and the swimming unit.
Must be available for the full duration of the summer program and attend mandatory orientation (dates TBD).
