Description

The Ithaca College School of Music Theatre and Dance invites applications for a fulltime oneyear term nonrenewable nontenureeligible position in voice beginning in August 2025. This position is intended to support the instructional needs of the voice area during theacademic year.

The School of Music Theatre and Dance values inclusive teaching and learning and we welcome candidates whose varied lived experiences inform their work as educators and artists. We seek individuals who will contribute to a supportive collaborative environment and foster student growth within a diverse community.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Teach applied voice (studio instruction)
  • Teach Studio Repertoire Performance Class
  • Support departmental activities related to recruitment performance preparation and student mentoring
  • Participate in area and schoolwide meetings and contribute to the culture and mission of the School
  • Engage in ongoing professional activity as a performer teacher and/or scholar

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in voice performance or pedagogy (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Demonstrated success as a vocal pedagogue and artist
  • Evidence of effective and inclusive teaching practices

Special consideration will be afforded to those candidates with:

  • A Doctoral degree in voice or a related field
  • A record of Collegelevel teaching experience and excellence
  • Experience mentoring students in classical or musical theatre vocal performance
  • Ability to support students across a range of musical styles and career goals.

All bargaining unit faculty members shall be covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Ithaca College and Services Employees International Union Local 200 United. Full time bargaining unit employees are all limited term faculty teaching term appointments on a fulltime nontenured and nontenure track basis employed by Ithaca College at its Ithaca New York campus. Hiring Rate: $61000
