At Ackerman Estvold Engineering and Consulting we are seeking a FullTime Transportation Engineer to join our onsite team in Minot Williston or Fargo ND. This exciting opportunity allows you to grow professionally while directly impacting your community through civil engineering and consulting projects that enhance transportation systems. As a professional engineer (PE) youll engage in handson projects utilizing OpenRoads technology and work closely with the DOT and various stakeholders.

What its like to be a Transportation Engineer at Transportation Engineer

As a Transportation Engineer at Ackerman Estvold Engineering and Consulting you will play a vital role in designing and enhancing the critical infrastructure that propels our communities forward. Collaborating with senior transportation leaders and multidisciplinary teams you will be responsible for planning developing and implementing a variety of transportation projects including roadways highways bridges airports and transit systems. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a midlevel engineer eager to deepen their technical skills while leading project tasks that will visibly impact both urban and rural areas. Key responsibilities include developing transportation plans preparing construction documents analyzing traffic flow patterns for safety improvements and coordinating with contractors and public agencies.

To thrive as a Transportation Engineer at Ackerman Estvold Engineering and Consulting a robust set of skills and qualifications is essential. Candidates must hold a bachelors degree in civil engineering or a related discipline with a strong emphasis on transportation. An EngineerinTraining (EIT) certification is required with the expectation of obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) license within 12 months or already possessing a North Dakota PE license. Relevant experience of 36 years in transportation or civil engineering design and consulting is crucial as is proficiency in design software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication collaboration and problemsolving abilities enabling them to work effectively with crossfunctional teams and stakeholders.

Moreover the capacity to analyze and model traffic flow patterns while developing innovative solutions for infrastructure challenges will be key to making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.
