Purpose of Role
The Paralegal Studies Program at Daemen University is seeking a qualified adjunct instructor for coursework focused on Law and Health. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching PAR 347: Health and the Law.
About This Opportunity
Joining our Paralegal Studies team the Adjunct Faculty will be responsible for the following:
This course is a survey of the legal and policy issues arising from the delivery of health care services in the United States. Topics include the health care policy making process organization of the health care system provider and facility licensing & regulation medical staff tort liability and other civil & criminal penalties fraud health care decision making managing healthcare information public & private insurance programs and public health. Students will also be introduced to the IRAC (Issue Rule Application & Conclusion) method of legal analysis. This course will emphasize practice and policy issues in New York State. This is a legal specialty course. This course will be offered in a hyflex format (inperson instruction with online access) on Daemens Amherst campus one night per week from 6:00pm 9:00pm.
$3000 per semester
Required Qualifications: JD (Juris Doctor) or closely related field Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience in higher education
