Sentara Health is hiring a PartTime Day shift
Nursing Professional Development Generalist
for the Simulation Center in Chesapeake VA.
This is a 16 hour per week position. Availability from 7:30am 4:30pm on Monday and Friday is required.
The Nurse Professional Development Generalist assumes operational responsibility for the development and implementation of staff education within designated population(s). Functions as a learning facilitator supporting orientation practice transitions and continuing education. Provides foundational education competency/skills validation to successfully move nurses from novice to beginner/competent practitioners. Accountable for defined aspects of staff development continuing education and professional development of nursing staff to improve quality safety and patient outcomes. Supports system and hospital performance improvement and evidencebased practice projects and initiatives.
Education
- BSN
Certification/Licensure
- A valid RN license in the state(s) of practice is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
- Advanced or specialized life support certifications required upon hire as defined by specific specialty. Critical Care/IMCU ACLS Emergency Care ACLS & PALS Womens Care Perinatal departments NRP Inpatient Pediatrics PALS.
Experience
- 35 years of Emergency Department RN experience.
- Classroom instruction using simulation and gaming techniques.
