Job Description

Purchasing Specialist Summary/Objective:The Purchasing Specialist will perform a variety of duties for purchasing and will coordinate with internal teams to ensure that procurement needs are met promptly and efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Send purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Assist with small purchases reviews and inventory matters.
  • Interact with suppliers on a daily basis.
  • Review deliveries against orders.
  • Track the status of orders and collaborate with operations and logistics to ensure on time and accurate deliveries.
  • Deal with nonsupplied under orders over orders and damaged goods.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies industry regulations and ethical procurement practices.
  • Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
  • Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
  • Generate regular reports on procurement performance cost savings and supplier performance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in related field highly preferred.
  • At least two years of purchasing experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
  • May require travel.
