Job Description

Adjunct Instructor Comics

The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) invites applicants for a PartTime Adjunct Instructor in the Comics Department. The ideal candidate is an innovative professional who can deliver relevant classroom experiences. We seek qualified applicants who possess current subject matter expertise teaching knowledge and strong skills in comics creation including writing penciling inking flatting and coloring. CCAD is seeking a dynamic and engaged individual for this program with significant professional experience who is energized by the challenge and promise of this opportunity. The successful candidate will work closely with the program chair and other faculty members in the Comics program.

CCAD seeks a candidate who can collaboratively engage with faculty and mentor students. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills showing initiative dependability empathy and reliability. In addition the candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and learning styles.

Class times for Fall are Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs from 12:303:15 pm or 3:30 6:15 pm. The position will begin in August 2025.

Position: Adjunct Instructor parttime

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Fine Arts or related field is required preferably complimented by professional experience and a minimum of three years of college level teaching experience preferred.
  • A terminal degree in the related field is encouraged.

  • A portfolio of professional work and if applicable a portfolio of student projects (both can either be linked to in the CV or uploaded) 1015 images each for professional work and if available 510 images of student projects)
