Reporting to the Manager or designate provides social work services and counselling to clients to assist in meeting the developmental and psychosocial needs of clients and to enable clients to utilize social systems and medical care in order to achieve their optimal level of independence and health. Prepares social assessments and participates in interdisciplinary teamwork and liaises with and obtains resources from community social health and welfare agencies. Clinical guidance/instruction is available from the Senior Therapist.
Masters of Social Work degree (MSW) from an accredited school of Social full registration with the BC College of Social years recent related experience in a developmental paediatric setting or related field; experience with application of Family Centred practice; experience working with community agencies; working knowledge of acute health care community living services and regional Ministry of Child & Family Development environments and of relevant legislation. An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
