LOCATION: 250 Miller Place Hicksville NY 11801
**May become hybrid after 6 months
HOURS: 8:00/8:30am to 4:30/5:00pm; Monday to Friday
FULL TIME: Benefits Eligible
In this role you will:
Be responsible for accurately reviewing and following up on denied or rejected claims handling insurance reimbursements and ensuring timely insurance and patient billing.
Research and reconcile denied and unpaid medical claims no fault and workers compensation claims
Submit appeals and follow up on denied or rejected claims to seek resolution for payment from insurance carrier
Knowledge of billing regulations ICD 10 codes CPT codes CCI rules and modifiers in order to correct and resubmit claims for payments including verifying patient insurance information ensuring accuracy in billing codes (CPT HCPCS ICD10.
Collect reimbursements for services rendered by reviewing insurance carriers reject reports EOBs and or correspondence
Use established protocols to contact providers and clients to resolve discrepancies in processed partially paid and unpaid claims with timely appropriate follow up action
Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA and payer guidelines
Knowledge of Laboratory billing codes Excel Outlook EMR systems preferred.
All You Need is:
High School Diploma or GED
12 years minimum experience with Accounts Receivables/Denials
Medical Billing Certificate preferred
Laboratory billing knowledge a plus
Salary Range: $18.00 to $24.00 per hour (depending on experience). Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
