The Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Psychiatry has an outstanding opportunity for a nurse practitioner at the MGH Ketamine Clinic. As a key member of the clinical team the attending will report to the Director Dr. Cusin and will provide the full scope of psychiatric services which fall under his/her field of training including but not limited to diagnosis treatment and coordination of care.
What Youll Work On
The Nurse Practitioner will be primarily accountable for:
Reviewing charts prior to the shift attending rounds to discuss complex cases
Providing coverage on the service making clinical decisions about dosing and follow ups evaluating and treating patients identifying safety concerns discussing with the team members (Nurses medical assistants administrative personnel).
Documentation (monitoring forms REMS as needed procedure notes).
Coordinating care with other providers or research team as needed.

Qualifications
Skills and Experience for a Nurse Practitioner
Minimum of 2 years advanced practice experience required.
Previous nursing experience required.
Previous psychiatric and mental health experience preferred.
Education/Degree for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Bachelors and masters in nursing required
Current federal and statecontrolled substance certification/registration.

Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients medical and/or surgical including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. May also perform additional duties such as precepting a small group of learners.

Essential Functions
Provides direct care counseling and teaching to a designated patient population in the ambulatory inpatient operative and/or procedural setting.
Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
Orders interprets and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
Develops appropriate plans of care and followup based on the outcomes of diagnostic laboratory and physical examination findings.
Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes procedure notes operative notes and discharge summaries.
Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
