JOB TITLE: INSIGHTS & CATEGORY MANAGER
LOCATION: CHELSEA HOUSE
RESPONSIBLE TO: HEAD OF MARKETING
RESPONSIBLE FOR: BRAND MANAGERS
Job Purpose:
- To drive adequate generation of consumer insight support the formulation of winning brand growth strategy and also coordinate all marketing activities for achievement of strategic and tactical objectives of the brands within the assigned category.
Key Responsibilities:
- To ensure development and timely of annual marketing plans for all brands in the product category to deliver on the business objectives and commercial targets.
- To be responsible for managing the external Agencies (Research creative experiential media digital and public relations) to ensure first class and implementation of approved research projects and brands activities within the category.
- To champion consumerbased marketing effectiveness evaluation and ensure timely provision of the core set of reports that adequately measure and track our Brands performance vis vis competition.
- To drive regular cross data analysis & interpretations and ensure that all brands and business performance data are kept up todate.
- Develop and execute category plans that deliver on business objectives while maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular analysis of category performance share insights with key stakeholders and make recommendation for improvements.
- Develop promotional plans and strategies in collaboration with trade marketing sales and other key stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and issues related to assigned categories.
- Analyse market data trends to identify opportunities for growth in new markets or new product categories within existing markets.
- Review market research reports to identify new opportunities and threats to existing products or brands.
Requirements
Our ideal candidate should:
- Possess a first degree in the Social Sciences or related field
- Have a minimum of 8 years experience in category management product management or similar role in a blue chip FMCG environment.
- Have experience in the spirits and wines industry
- Possess a proven track record of successful product launches.
- Have strong analytical skills and experience in using data to drive decision making.
- Possess outstanding skills in oral and written communication.
