In this role you will be instrumental in the Exterior Department using your skills to process and analyze large volumes of data. You will collaborate with diverse teams including Engineering Quality Control VINFASTs suppliers to create cuttingedge solutions that will drive the future of transportation.
We are seeking a highly skilled automotive engineer specializing in the design development and integration of rearview mirror systems both IRVM and ORVM for global vehicle platforms. Skilled in the mechanical electrical and mechatronic aspects of mirror assemblies including power fold mechanisms memory functions autodimming camera integration (for CMS systems) blind spot detection and more. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and homologation standards related to visibility and driver assistance.
Developed nextgen autodimming IRVM with integrated display for camera rearview (FDM) in a premium EV.
Led ORVM development for a global SUV platform with integrated cameras BSM indicators and autofolding mechanism.
Collaborated with Tier 1 supplier to reduce mirror vibration via CFD and mount optimization.
Supported transition from traditional ORVM to CMS (camera monitor system) for autonomous concept vehicle.
Position Responsibilities
Interior Rear View Mirror (IRVM):
Manual and autodimming mirrors
Integration with camera systems (Full Display Mirrors FDM)
Mounting bracket standardization and packaging constraints
Sensor integration (e.g. rain light compass)
Aesthetic & ergonomic design optimization
Outside Rear View Mirror (ORVM):
Powerfolding and manual mechanisms
Memory and heating functionalities
Turn signal and puddle lamp integration
Camera Monitor System (CMS) compatibility
Aerodynamic design and NVH optimization
Antivibration design and material selection
Regulatory & Validation Expertise:
FMVSS 111 ECE R46 compliance
Environmental and vibration testing (thermal cycles salt spray etc.
Homologation and global visibility standards
ADAS integration and calibration for camerabased mirrors
Tools & Software:
CATIA V5 CREO SolidWorks for 3D design
ANSYS for structural and vibration analysis
CANalyzer Vector tools for ECU testing
DVP&R and DFMEA documentation
Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or related field Master s preferred).
10 years of experience in automotive IRVM and ORVM.
Strong knowledge of mirror system technologies regulations and manufacturing processes.
Proven leadership and project management skills.
Experience working with CAD simulation tools and software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
