Visa is seeking a highly motivated collaborative team player to serve as Paralegal on the Global Regulatory Affairs team responsible for managing and coordinating complex regulatory matters across Visas 200 markets and territories. The Paralegal will report to the Senior Managing Counsel.
The primary focus of the role will be to support the Global Regulatory Affairs team with submissions to regulators monitoring legislative and regulatory developments document management and retention stakeholder alignment maturing internal processes and special projects.
This position will be based in Washington D.C. Atlanta or Austin.
Essential Functions
Support Global Regulatory Affairs team with regulatory filings including public submissions responses to inquiries and correspondence as well as related internal processes.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments on key issues globally.
Partner with crossfunctional legal and business teams on various regulatory matters and special projects.
Support overall team operations including updating and maintaining databases document management and retention formatting and proofreading regulatory filings and preparing presentations reports and agendas and other deliverables as needed.
Design recommend and implement new processes and procedures to increase group efficiency.
This position requires a highly organized detailoriented and collaborative team player who is comfortable in a fastpaced environment and with managing multiple timesensitive deadlines on priority issues.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Qualifications :
Basic Qualifications
o 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
o 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD)
o Bachelors degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant legal work experience.
o Prior experience supporting attorneys with filings submissions and correspondence with governments and regulators.
o Highly organized detailoriented and effective timemanagement skills.
o Strong analytical skills and ability to collaborate and execute highpriority tasks in a team environment.
o Effective verbal and written communication skills in all interactions across a wide range of stakeholders including internal clients senior management legal and business colleagues and external counsel.
o Strong sense of accountability taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and proactively problemsolving issues.
o Ability to manage multiple timesensitive priorities in a fastpaced environment.
o Expertise in Microsoft Office programs including Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Teams as well as database management.
o Applicable experience as a paralegal preferably with an international law firm or the inhouse legal department of a large global company. Experience with specific practice groups is highly desirable (e.g. regulatory litigation financial services).
o Ability and willingness to take initiative to continuously improve internal processes.
o Prior project management experience and evidence of strong organization skills is strongly preferred.
o Highquality and accurate written work product and experience conducting and distilling legal research and reviewing public filings.
o Practical and proactive problemsolver with a strong business acumen. Must be confident mature and calm under pressure.
o Selfstarter with a calm and positive attitude highly collaborative mindset professionalism collegiality and desire to make an impact.
Additional Information :
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 510 of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 87200 to 117900 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on jobrelated factors which may include knowledge skills experience and location. In addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
