Job Description

An Outstanding Girls school in Harrow is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Drama Teacher for a permanent fulltime position commencing in September. The successful Drama Teacher will foster creativity confidence and a love of theatre in students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging Drama Teacher lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 covering performance script analysis and theatre history.
  • Prepare students effectively for GCSE Drama examinations and practical performances.
  • Cultivate a supportive and collaborative environment where students can explore their dramatic talents.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in drama providing constructive and encouraging feedback as a Drama Teacher.
  • Contribute to the organisation of extracurricular drama clubs and school productions.
  • Encourage an appreciation for a diverse range of dramatic styles and theatrical traditions.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Drama or Performing Arts.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching Drama at the secondary level (Key Stages 3 & 4.
  • Strong knowledge of dramatic literature performance techniques and theatre history.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and directorial skills capable of inspiring students as a Drama Teacher.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse dramatic abilities and interests of students.
  • A commitment to collaborative work and a supportive ethos within the performing arts department.
